e mixer’s mission is to find and develop the most innovative, entertaining fiction and poetry, every year we will pick a story, poem, or graphic novel that’s been published on the website, and then publish them prominently on a special page of the website and in one of our yearly anthologies as an example par excellence of mixer’s aesthetic of literary genre.
A mixologist must mix genres or subvert generic conventions to great effect while also telling an original, compelling narrative.
Examples of what we’re looking for: a realistic romance, a sci-fi noir, a horrific poem, or literary graphic novel. The possibilities are endless. We’re also looking for stories, especially realist stories, that subvert the traditional epiphany structure.
Submissions are accepted from January through June.
